Orchid is the color of the year!

This particular shade of purple is one that will surely set you apart from the rest. It’s adventurous, but not so much so that you won’t be able to try it out. The Pantone Color Institute has named “Radiant Orchid” as its color of the year for 2014. The hue is expected to be visible in men’s and women’s clothing and accessories throughout the next year.

The wonderful thing about the Radiant Orchid is the variety of color tones that work with it. Yellow gold, white gold or platinum, rose gold any metal choice will work. The fun part is dressing it up with different gemstones. While I’ll admit that purple isn’t necessarily my favorite color, it’s one that often seems neglected and forgotten. In a closet crammed with shades of blue, green, and of course tons of black, I think I have one purple shirt. One. All of that is about to change as we usher into spring, and new wardrobes are already begging for the jewels to match.
